Nymphenburg Palace
Summer Residence of the Bavarian electors and kings. Commissioned by elector Ferdinand Maria and his wife Henriette Adelaide in gratitude for the long desired birth of a son and heir to the throne. First building was the cube-shaped villa with its Baroque style staircase in the middle - built in 1664. It is up to this day the nucleus of the complex. Later enlargements by the son Max Emanuel. Highlights inside: the stonehall, King Ludwig I’s “Gallery of Beauties” and the room where King Ludwig II was born. The magnificent park with three maisons de plaisance invites to a stroll. Marstallmuseum at Nymphenburg
The Marstallmuseum in the south wing of Nymphenburg Palace houses a wonderful collection of historic state coaches, gala coupés and ceremonial sleighs. > Info
Deutsches Museum
Largest technical-scientific museum in the world. 20 permanent exhibitions covering an area of 20,000 qm. A huge playground for the child in man. > Info

Lake Starnberg
